Who Am I?

My name is Eric Gunter. I’m from Lincolnton, NC, a VERY small town that’s at least 30 minutes from any neighboring town with anything to actually do. I’m a junior chemistry major/Spanish and neuroscience minor planning on applying for pharmacy school this Summer. I am a member of UNC’s Quiz Bowl team, which is essentially a competition to answer questions about all sorts of topics, like literature, history, science, arts, and more. In my spare time I enjoy reading (I especially enjoy dystopian fiction, particularly that of Margaret Atwood), binge watching tv shows (currently watching The End of the F***ing World on Netflix), and listening to music (As of late, I’ve been listening to a lot of musicals, my favorite of which is Come From Away, a true story about passengers who were diverted to a tiny town in Newfoundland after the US airspace shut down on 9/11). I enjoy traveling (I’ve visited Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Thailand, and Italy, and would love to visit Spain and Iceland soon! [I’d include pictures from Italy and Thailand if I had any sort of technological competency, but alas, I do not]). I’m looking forward to continuing to read more about topics in microbiology this semester!

My favorite book I’ve read so far
